Managing Conversations
Creating conversations
Click "New Chat" on the home page to create a root conversation. Free users can create up to 3 root conversations. Pro users have no limit.
Each root conversation is the starting point of a tree. All branches created from it are part of that tree.
Conversation list
The home page shows all your root conversations. Pinned conversations stay at the top, and conversations within the pinned and unpinned groups are sorted by most recently updated. Each entry shows the title and a message count.
Use the pin button on a conversation row to keep an important conversation visible at the top of the home page. Click it again to unpin the conversation.
Titles and summaries
When you send your first message in a conversation, LearnFork auto-generates a short title and a summary using your AI provider. Summaries are regenerated periodically (every 10 message pairs) to stay current.
You can rename conversations from the home page, the canvas node header, or the mobile conversation header. Custom names are saved locally with the rest of your conversation data.
Deleting conversations
Branch conversations can be deleted from the canvas or mobile view. Deleting a branch also removes all its children. Root conversations can be deleted from the home page.
Hiding and deleting messages
Individual prompts and answers can be hidden to keep a conversation easy to review. Hidden messages are not shown in the normal trace, pins page, or search results, but they remain available to the AI context so existing branches and follow-up answers stay coherent.
You can show hidden messages from the conversation header and restore them. Permanent deletion removes a full prompt/response turn when both sides are present, and is available only when neither side has child branches. Branch-anchor turns must be hidden or have their branches deleted first.
